James Chapman-Smith (formerly Roe-Smith) has been a developer/architect of Microsoft-based solutions for 18 years. James started learning QuickBasic whilst still at University. After graduating in 1992 with an honours degree in computer science, he began his working career developing Microsoft Excel solutions. Not wanting to be limited by Excel Macro programming, he learnt VBA, VB and then VB.Net over the next decade or so in various roles. James has been working for Camms as a Business Solutions Architect since 2001, where he has designed and architected numerous systems - mostly .Net-based - in the manufacturing automation and business intelligence space. Recently James has returned to his past by developing Excel solutions using Visual Studio Tools for Office. In general though, James is a technofuturist with interests in a widely varied range of technology and its impact on the future.
